Fortnight for Freedom
This weekend, we begin a two week period of prayer, our Fortnight for Freedom, with the theme, “Freedom to Bear Witness… To Our Faith in Baltimore.” Our right protected by our nation to bear witness to our faith is often challenged: by new laws, by our culture and societal pressures, by our own timidness and false sense of tolerance. If our faith is truly a treasure beyond wealth, would we not want to share it freely and openly? Faith is certainly not handed on by pressure or coercion but by an open invitation to who we are and the life that displays our joy and gratitude to the blessings of God.
Please pray as a family over these next two weeks. Fortnight for Freedom – Prayer for Families
Laudato Si’ – Pope Francis’ Encyclical
Encyclicals are the Pope’s official documents to teach faith and morals. In his latest encyclical, Laudato Si’: On Care of Our Common Home, Pope Francis challenges all people to consider the implications of our role as caretakers of Creation. Read online at Laudato Si’, download the pdf papa-francesco_20150524_enciclica-laudato-si_en, or in booklet format, Laudato Si’ – Pope Francis On Care for Our Common Home.

Our Lady of Grace is located in the Hereford area of Baltimore County. We are a relatively new community established in 1974. Visitors to our church invariably remark about the friendliness and warmth of the people and staff. Within the walls of these buildings, the true nature of the spirit of the community is exhibited.
